BJ

BJ is a well known local character admired for his honesty and kind temperament. . We purchased him approximately eight years ago   BJ  changes his gait and behaviour to fit his rider.  For this rider he will turn from leg aides only, alter his pace according to the rider's energy level and do perfect flexion work.

Rufus

Rufus is rising seven and is a clydesdale/quarterhorse/welsh mountain pony cross. He has been hand raised which means he is very people orientated and not a great deal concerns him.

 Albie,14yrs Gelding Quater horse x 14.1hh, Nothing fazes Albie. he is calm and steady, He can sometimes need a bit of encouragment to trot or canter. Albie is a very good learners pony, who looks after his riders. He is very cleaver and cheeky. He can untie his own lead rope, open gates, and is excellent at escaping from his stall.  He is a well loved character.

Angel is a Bay mare, approx. 12yrs old and 14.1hh she doesn't always live up to her name when she is protecting her patch of hay!  She is lovely and quiet while being handled and ridden. she is always willing to please.  Angel is an excellent learners pony.

Star  is an appaloosa, 11yrs old. She is 15.1hh. star does RDA and horses for healing, she copes well with nervous people. Previously she has done Show jumping, Show hunter, Dressage, Hunting and pre Novice eventing. The young people who are more confident, love riding a bigger horse. She may seem a bit grumpy in her stall, but once you get to know her she is a sweet heart and lovely to ride.

Minty is our oldest horse, at age 29yrs old, He is a gentle giant at 16hh . He is a t.b Gelding, and is fleabitten gey, Minty is very quiet and likes his own space, Dosen't like being crowded by the other horses, He is well schooled and very compliant.

Bindy is a clydie x. she is 6yrs old and 15.1hh. Bindy is learning to be an RDA horse. She previously had not been handled much. We are taking our time and building a relationship with her. she wants to be loved but unsure of who to trust.  Bindy loves having her mane and forelock brushed and will stand quietly while it's done.  Otherwise she is a quite active in her stall and allways makes sure to knock her water bucket over.

Tonto is skewbald, kinda brown and white in colour. He is approx. 17yrs old and is 14.1hh. tonto gives the impression of what the indian horses of the american west must have been like. He has a wall eye, (one blue eye).  HE has done a lot of riding school work and also been in a movie. He is  agreat character.

Hope is a 15.2hh bay standardbred x Gelding. He is 8yrs old, Hope is a gentleman and rather stately looking, He does RDA and horse for healing.  He is very good with nervous people and seems to understand their needs.  He loves having his forelock brushed and even lowers his head for you .  Hope is allways ready for hugs and loves attention.

 Juan is an appaloosa t.b x.  He is 15yrs old and 15.1hh.  Juan is fast becomming a favourite as his unusual colouring catches the eye.  He is a nice natured horse and excellent for learners.  He has done trekking, natural horsemanship, and cattle work.

Choco 8yrs old and is couple of incehes taller than Buddy.

Choco is a cheeky chap and you have to watch your fingers if he thinks you have food and will even sniff it out if your pockets smell yummy.  Choco is our mascot at the Whangarei A & P Show and loves all the attention he gets. He jealously guards his friendship with Buddy.  Choco is chestnut in colour, witha lovely flaxrn manr and tail. He is very good with nervous clients who would rather spend their first session with a small horse and then move on to a bigger horse.
